Product rules and entity rules must meet on the same order
ianaiERP describes rules generating BOMs and routings; NetSuite describes a suite spanning operations and multiple legal entities. Those documented emphases create different starting questions, rather than proving exclusive capabilities. Give both teams a configured assembly sold by one entity and manufactured by another. Ask which entity owns its material, who approves the customer options and which structure governs the released job. Inspect the connection between configuration choices and the commercial transaction. A factory-focused demonstration can hide entity work; a consolidated dashboard can hide the effort needed to maintain product rules. Require each implementer to identify the records and configuration responsible for both. If a partner application fills either part, bring it into the demonstration. The comparison becomes useful when the buyer sees the complete proposed design, including the work needed to keep a local exception from changing the group template or an approved manufacturing instruction. Ask the group controller and factory engineer to sign the same scope map. A rule approved for one plant should have an explicit scope before it changes another entity's product or reporting assumptions.[ianaiERP 1][Oracle NetSuite 1]
Compare a cash investigation with the underlying financial process
ianaiERP's Financial Officer material describes exception investigation and human approvals. NetSuite's financial-management material connects finance with operational applications. These are different evidence scopes; they do not establish that one has better accounting or that the other lacks AI. Use a shipment missing its invoice, plus a legitimate staged-billing arrangement that looks similar. First have finance establish the correct status without AI. Then evaluate any proposed assistant against that answer and its supporting records. Separately inspect the posting, invoice correction, receivable and entity reporting in each offered configuration. An explanation is useful only if the reviewer can act through a controlled workflow. Record false leads, missing data and review effort without inventing an accuracy score. This keeps a compelling investigation from substituting for financial scope, while giving a broader finance proposal a concrete operational exception to resolve rather than only a reporting tour.[ianaiERP 2][Oracle NetSuite 2]
Make the implementation boundary part of the choice
Prepare a scope map covering configuration rules, production, inventory, local finance and group reporting. For every boundary, identify its owner, update path and failure queue. Ask each proposed delivery team to add a second manufacturing site with a different routing and reporting dimension. Observe what can be reused and what must be revalidated. Do not infer easy global rollout from a suite diagram or assume a manufacturing platform cannot support it; request the relevant evidence. Compare migration of open jobs and intercompany balances with the same cutoff assumptions. Price internal rule maintenance and reconciliation separately from external setup. The preferred package should reflect the organization's dominant risk: frequent order changes, difficult entity governance or the interaction of both. Preserve unresolved requirements as conditions of the next pilot. A decision supported by that map is more defensible than choosing whichever product gives the stronger first demonstration in its favored area.
Questions that separate the proposals
Who owns product rules across entities?
Local overrides can change the manufacturing promise.
Which modules deliver the entity model?
Suite breadth does not define the quoted scope.
Can finance reject an AI finding?
Review must preserve evidence and final authority.
What changes at the next plant?
Template reuse and local validation have different effort.
Run the same comparative scenario
BUYER-CONTROLLED DEMONSTRATION
A revised assembly sold across entities
Illustrative evaluation case, not a reported product test: one selling entity, one plant and a shipment awaiting invoice.
Proposed evaluation scenario. It is not a reported product test or customer result.- 01
Configure a valid assembly and an invalid option combination.
Evidence to retain: Save rule results, generated structures and rejection reasons.
- 02
Release the job, then change one purchased component.
Evidence to retain: List affected commitments, approvals and entity ownership.
- 03
Ship part of the order and investigate its billing status.
Evidence to retain: Retain original transactions, exceptions and human disposition.
- 04
Reconcile stock, margin and the intercompany position.
Evidence to retain: Produce one traceable bridge and log unresolved dependencies.
Public documentation establishes different product emphases, not comparable implementation outcomes. The decision depends on demonstrated order changes, entity control and the delivery package actually offered.
